With its 325 km and more than 8,000 metres of elevation gain, this itinerary will take you through breathtaking landscapes, historic hill towns and villages and places of intense spirituality. The route, carefully designed and signposted, winds along forest tracks and quiet unpaved and asphalted roads. It is suitable for mountain, gravel, traditional and electric bicycles, offering a perfect mix of adventure and relaxation.

Setting off from Sarsina, the birthplace of Plautus, a playwright in Ancient Rome, you will go through the heart of the Apennines, plunging into the uncontaminated nature of the Foreste Casentinesi National Park. Take in the beauty of the old forests, the majestic rocks and the awesome views that open up before you.

On the way, you will come to hill towns and villages rich in history and culture where you can savour local traditions and discover hidden treasures. There will be no shortage of stages devoted to spirituality, such as the Hermitage of Camaldoli and the Sanctuary of La Verna, places full of history and mysticism.

This cycle route is a perfect experience: you will be able to ask for a Credential, just like foot pilgrims do, and obtain a Testimonium at the end of the route. You will also find many special cycling services such as cycle workshops, e-bike rentals and welcoming accommodation facilities.
