VRGBike’s Credential is an indispensable “passport” for all cyclists that want to undertake the VRG BIKE ROUTE as a pilgrimage. Apply for it before setting off by email to

credenziale@viaromeagermanica.com.

This document is a log that records each stage of the route that you have completed. Ask facilities like hotels, hostels, farms and tourist offices and parish churches to stamp it. The Credential is also a tangible memory of a unique experience and a symbol of the pilgrimage you have brought to an end successfully.

How to obtain a Credential

You can apply for the Via Romea Germanica Credential by email to:

stating:

  • The name or names of the pilgrim or pilgrims;

  • The address the Credential is to be sent to.

Please note that the issuance of the official Via Romea Germanica Credential is contingent upon payment of a donation. For more information on how to pay and to proceed with the donation, click here.

NB: A list of the ”Friends of the Via Romea Germanica” will be enclosed with the Credential. Pilgrims may ask these persons on the spot for information and assistance.

Testimonium

After reaching their destination, by presenting the Credential duly stamped and having covered at least the last 400 km of the route, cyclists and hikers may ask the Vatican Sacristy for a Testimonium, an official document that attests the completion of the pilgrimage along the Via Romea Germanica through the VRG Bike route.
