When you cycle in Romagna, you will have to obey the rules in the Italian Highway Code. There are also some measures that we advise you to take independently of obligations under the law; therefore, in order to be safe on your cycle in Romagna, you should always:

  • wear a helmet
  • keep right
  • use the cycle tracks where available
  • put on your lights at night
  • signal turns with your arm
  • do not cycle on motorways or orbital roads
  • do not cycle in the wrong direction
  • wear high visibility clothing
(especially in the autumn and winter and at night)
  • take a reserve inner tube and repair kit with you

With an average annual temperature of 19 °C and only 92 days of rain per year, Romagna may be visited by bicycle in every season. To live an unforgettable experience, however, we advise you to choose the areas at the foot of the Tuscany and Romagna Apennines in the summer months to enjoy more pleasant temperatures, and instead, to prefer the plain and the areas on the coast in the spring and autumn months. In order to be always ready to cope with weather conditions, we advise you to take the following precautions.

Hot months

  • light clothing
  • rainproof jacket
  • plenty of water (and mineral salts)

Cold months

  • thermal clothing
  • gloves
  • rainproof jacket
  • snacks for energy support
